What are you made of?

"Fibers is an exploration of the foundational threads—both literal and metaphorical—that weave us into who we are. Just as fabric begins with a single strand, our identities, memories, and stories are spun from the invisible fibers of ancestry, experience, culture, and emotion.

This exhibit honors the quiet strength of what lies beneath the surface: the raw textures of Black girlhood, the inherited patterns of womanhood, and the tactile evidence of becoming. From hair coils to fabric seams, each image is a study of softness and structure—what is nurtured, what is knotted, and what is free.

Through a visual language of texture, tenderness, and tension, Fibers asks: What are we made of? What holds us together? What frays us at the edges—and what beauty emerges in the unraveling? This work is a love letter to the origin. To the materials. To the mess. To the unseen threads that carry us.Real Impact.
